Welcome

The aim of this website is to introduce you to our Probus Club and to give some idea of who we are and what we do.

Retirement can come too early for may people who want to remain active and enjoy meeting new people in a friendly environment. Probus clubs like ours are for people from all walks of life who have retired or are approaching retirement and who want to maintain a social network with others who have similar interests.

About Us

The club was founded in 2009 following a merger of the old Mirfield Probus Club with the Eastthorpe Probus Club. Most of our members live in Mirfield and the surrounding district.

We meet at Saint Mary's Church Hall, Mirfield at 10.00am on the first and third Thursday of each month .

After we have all had time to chat over coffee and biscuits, the President will start the formal meeting at 10.30 am. This takes the form of a short business meeting followed by an entertaining hour-long talk by a guest speaker.

We organise regular lunches and visits to places of interest on which wives (or partners) of members are invited to join us. We also have an active crown green bowls section that meet on a regular basis throughout the year.

Our club is a member of United Kingdom Probus Clubs.

We are a friendly club with a membership of around 40. The current subscription for membership is £50 per annum for the 24 meetings which can be paid in two installments.
